Republican or Democrat?

My wife, Christi Brown, succinctly sums up how I feel right now :

‘I’m not sure if I’d be considered center right or center left or just plain in the center…I know I can’t…I won’t identify as Republican or Democrat in today’s political hate-from-both-sides. I don’t know where I belong. I don’t think I actually do belong and that’s kind of a relief to me. Based on the ugliness I see all around me, I have no desire to belong to any of it.
I have a deep desire to belong to God and I know he despises what we are doing to each other, in the name of tribalism.’   – Christi Brown.

  1. I see it this way…
Like the Bible puts it, as a Christian I’m here on earth to be an Ambassador for Christ.

In 2 Corinthians 5: 20 it says of us Christians…

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”
    [NASB]

Yes. I vote, and I vote according to my biblical beliefs, but I don’t belong to this world. My citizenship is in heaven and I’m here to represent Christ, not the political parties of this earth.
